We are a family.
Mike and I have been married for almost 29 years.
Our children mean everything to us.
Our 25 year old twins live on their own now.
Our daughter has a daughter of her own.
She is half of the dynamic duo, along with our youngest son.
They are affectionately referred to as "Stinker & Doodle".
And no family introduction would be complete
without our beloved, one and only nephew.
By profession, dad is a musician, and I am an artist.
So, there's a lot of beautiful noise
and merry mess making in our home.
We also spend a lot of time in the martial arts studio.
We love our two four-legged family members,
Our Lab, Chloe, and Beagle, Bailey.
And we also homeschool.
We focus on classical academics, the arts, faith, and healthy living.
We lean towards the child-led spirit of un-schooling, but we do
maintain structure and continuity in our daily studies.
We all share a passion for nature and quiet beautiful locations to explore.
We strive to nurture each other's gifts and talents, and help
each other discovery who we were each created to be.
We don't believe in waiting until we grow up to follow a dream.
We also don't believe in letting go of childhood wonders & whimsies
once we've grown up. Life is too short to do either.
This is an adventure I never imagined in my youth.
The challenges and rewards are bountiful.
It is a gift to watch our children grow and thrive in an environment
that embraces learning from sun up 'til sun down... and then some.
